Self

And so, my fellow-earthlings, I implore you: Is your life expressing a rock-solid yes to hope or have you capitulated to despair? Are you saying yes to love more deeply those near and dear to you? Are you saying yes to greater kindness and justice where you work, play, and worship? Are you saying yes to a one-world family, to a planet at peace, to the well-being of all life, everywhere? Is your very next act geared to increase Yes in the world rather than adding to the slew of No-s and Maybes and Yes-buts? I exhort you to spout yeses aloud every day, yeses from the heart, and watch some of your yeses take wings and become more influential than you could ever imagine.

We’re lucky to be born in the first place; you and I are statistical miracles, and the only soul-sized, generous response we can ever make is to offer a resounding Yes in our daily worlds. You’ll remember that when Moses struck the Dead Sea with his wand, nothing happened. The sea only opened when the first person plunged in.

When that first person took the plunge, said Yes to life with their very body and soul, then, and only then, did the Dead Sea open forth. Oh, that tiny but majestic word: Yes…the mightiest word in the lexicon of any language. Yes, I can be that; yes, I will risk that; yes, you can count on me to be present and accountable; yes, I will join the team of hopers rather than the squadron of despairing.

Starting here, starting now.
