Unwrapping

During Christmas time, I urge us to embrace all of its various and sundry emotions and experiences. Be willing to celebrate this season holistically rather than partially: soaking in sentimentality, facing sadness, being of service, and entering times of silence. Don’t sell either yourself or the season short. For if you do Christmas well—that is, full-bore—you will most assuredly do the rest of the year full-bore too.

As they say, for every fat book, there’s a thin book trying to get out. So, may this little book spur each of us to engage the nativity of Jesus as the catalyst for our own birthings and rebirthings…year after year after year. May Christmas in all of its assorted legends and multifaceted meanings inspire you and you and you and you and me to keep evolving and deepening into seasons beyond counting.

Think of it this way: you and I will never run out of Christmases until we run out of breath. So, let’s start unwrapping the inner gifts of Christmas!
